Being Green
The nature of our business practice means that we are carbon aware and promote the use of locally sourced sustainable timber whenever possible; this ensures we are as energy efficient as possible. We also try to recycle and re-use our timber offcuts and 'do our bit' for the environment and future generations.
Brochures
We have made a conscious decision not to print and distribute brochures as we prefer keep our paper usage to a minimum and save on the unecessary use of resources. We hope that our website provides you with all relevant information about our services; however, should you require hard copies of specific imagery or text, then please contact us.
Recycling Green Oak
- Larger oak offcuts are made into chunky oak furniture such as oak beam coffee tables, side tables, plinths and similar items. Please contact us for details.
- Smaller oak offcuts are used locally on economical woodburning stoves; the burning process is carbon neutral, as the CO2 released in burning is the same as the tree has absorbed during its life.
- Our oak sawdust and oak shavings are used in local smokeries/restaurants for smoking fish, meat and cheeses. We have also supplied fine oak sawdust to the BUGS section of London Zoo amongst others.
- We can supply bags of mixed oak shavings and sawdust, or chippings direct; for home smoking or for adding that oak smoked taste to barbeque food and for use in home wine making.
- Example costs to post within mainland UK by Royal Mail Parcel Post for premium mixed oak sawdust/shavings or chippings, shipped in a bag within a large well sealed cardboard box:- 10 Kgs = £35.50 + VAT ; 20 kgs £71.00 + VAT.
- Larger enquiries for chippings, shavings and sawdust are welcome and delivery can be arranged.
- Please note chippings, shavings and sawdust are a bi-product of our work and are therefore subject to availability.
